The insertion of security elements into the gold film used on passports is a novel development within security documents. In collaboration with its key partner, ANY Security Printing Company PLC has developed numerous gold foils. These foils are fluorescent, and some of them even bifluorescent (i.e., emit fluorescent light of different colours when exposed to UV light of varying wavelengths). The verification of the special guilding is easy and secure, whilst the legal reproduction is a major challenge for potential counterfeiters.
